The SF Appeal reports inbound delays of 20 minutes or more on the Market Street subway. As usual the cause is problems with the train control system (which caused meltdowns way back in 1998). Check NextMuni before you ride!

Many sources are reporting that the entire Muni Metro is out of service due to a section of collapsed overhead wire near the inbound section of Van Ness station. Service is scheduled to resume at 5:30am, according to Justin True speaking on CBS5. Check here, as well as our Twitter stream for updates as we find out more.
Yesterday’s Chronicle reported that the first day of service with Muni’s new schedule and route patterns went largely smoothly, with the MTA claiming that service was running smoothly, at least on Saturday. And Mayor Newsom (or his staff) submitted an item on it to Sunday’s Examiner. SFist also covered this. Any word on how it has been on the first commute day with the new schedule?
