More Muni Metro Delays
The SF Appeal reports inbound delays of 20 minutes or more on the Market Street subway. As usual the cause is problems with the train control system (which caused meltdowns way back in 1998). Check NextMuni before you ride!

MUNI’s becoming less and less worthwhile. Service cuts, and then, for those of us who have been loyal devotees of public transit, buying monthly travel passes, we’re slammed with 2 fare increases in one year. And if you happen to use a TransLink card to tag the machine for your fare (or to validate your access via your monthly pass payment) you’re required to board the front of the bus – meanwhile the only seats available – at the back of the bus – are snatched up by fare evaders. I’m beginning to see why folks are slow to migrate to public transit here. All the carpool talk of late makes me understand that it’s an alternative to MUNI we should all consider.
I agree, we must consider alternative to Muni. Competition would be healthy.
